We acknowledge the sovereign work of God throughout the long history of Creekside Church. We are committed to Him alone as the head of our church.
The story of Creekside begins all the way back in 1838, when the congregation was founded as the St. Peter United Church of Christ. Four years later in 1842, a 36' x 24' log building was built for the congregation. The brick Historic Sanctuary, which still stands today, was built and dedicated September 4, 1868. German speaking services were abandoned in 1920 and in 1948 the church merged with the United Church of Christ. The church has been a pillar of the community for nearly 200 years and has helped grow and strengthen the faith of many believers during that time. God continued to bless the church and in 2003, the current worship hall where we have services today was constructed and dedicated.
Today, Creekside is a non-denominational, autonomous church, meaning we are self-governing, using the tithes and offerings of our congregation to fund our ministry and operations. Creekside is also a congregational church which means the congregants govern the church and it's activities, not a denomination many miles away. This change came about in 2019 when the congregation became burdened with the spiritual waywardness of their denominational affiliate. The church was convicted that it could not function in good conscience with an organization that was leaving the basic teachings of the Bible. This decision led to the adoption of a new statement of faith and constitution that reflected the church's commitment to be faithful to the teachings of the Bible. Since that time, God has blessed Creekside with a refreshed and relevant ministry in Brookville, Indiana and surrounding areas.
