Awana Theme Schedule

Awana is an acronym that stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" and comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15.  Awana was created as a way to teach children basic Bible truths, scripture memorization, and train them to serve God.

Children will enjoy a counsel time in which they learn about God, discuss biblical truths, and learn together.  They will then be split into handbook groups.

Cubbies are ages 3 and 4 and have their own counsel time lesson and handbook time.  Leaders spend time with each child and help them with their lessons and bible verse memorization.  During the week, parents are encouraged to spend time with their "cubbies" to complete the parent sections and activities.  This additional material will help your child to feel important and will allow them to hear about God from the people with the most influence on their lives: their parents.

Sparks are kindergarten through 2nd graders.  They share a counsel time with the T&T group, described below.  They also receive assistance with their bible verses each week.  Sparks are encouraged to help each other during Awana which helps to build friendships.  Parents are also encouraged to help their "spark" with their bible verse memorization during the week.

T&T, short for Truth and Training, is the 3rd through 6th graders group.  The T&T students share counsel time with the Sparks and then spend handbook time together, discussing life lessons and learning Bible verses.  Students are encouraged to discuss their sections with their parents during the week.
